Deal of the Day: Animal Print Loafers for Under $15

Some of the big sellers at this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale were animal print mules and loafers, like this snake skin Steve Madden pair. However, they are $70 and who knows if they will still be trendy next year!

If you’d like to try the trend for less, Wal-Mart has released several patterns of its “Time & Tru Feather Loafers” for only $14.97. I purchased some similar leopard loafers from them last year and really liked them.

Deal of the Day: My Favorite Suit for Under $100!

In a prior Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I bought the Halogen “Ela” Suit after trying about 20 others that just didn’t work for me. I am 5’11” and between a Large and X-Large (usually a 12 in pants), and needed a black pants suit that would fit my curvy hips and also be long enough on me.  I was so pleasantly surprised that this one (in Size 12) fit perfectly!

The “Ela” suit is now at Nordstrom Rack, and the entire thing is less than $100! (The exact pants/jacket I got total to $99 right now but other combos are actually far less).  Click here to shop the jacket, pants and matching skirt (as well as a plus-size version).

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019: My Top Picks (Sorted by Price)

*UPDATED 6/14 with additional items and info on what is Sold Out at the moment*

I used to not really understand what the big deal was with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (as a bargain shopper, it can be hard to spend $50+ on one item, even if it is “on sale”) – but I’ve now come to realize that Nordstrom carries some of my absolute favorite brands (Kut from the Kloth, BlankNYC, Zella, etc.), and this is the only time to get a discount on some of them!

The sale for Nordstrom credit card holders runs from July 12-18th, and the sale opens to the public on July 19th. Below are my favorite picks (prices reflect the current sale. Prices will go back up to full price on August 1st, as these are brand new fall items):

Deal of the Day: My Favorite Black Pants are 30% Off!

I must be losing my mind in the midst of moving, because I left my favorite black ponte pants off of my Nordstrom sale post 🤦 It is not an exaggeration to say I’ve worn these 200 times. Actually more like 500. They are stretchy but don’t get all saggy with wear. And they are plenty dressy enough to wear to work, and have real zipper and pockets too!

Click here to buy them for $45 – they are usually $69 and this is the only time of year that they go on sale.

They run big, I’m more like a 12 Long and I wear a 10 Regular in these.

Target Try-On: Summer Dresses

My last Target Try-On was a bit of a fail, so I was hoping to find better pieces this time around. I had noticed a lot of cute Who What Wear dresses and wanted to see how they fit (unfortunately the size selection was somewhat limited at my store, but I did my best).

A lot of these dresses are BOGO 50% off right now if you order them for either pick up or delivery. Offer isn’t good for in store purchases.

This Who What Wear Dress ($39.99) caught my eye because I’m always looking for short sleeve + knee length dresses for work. Unfortunately the only thing close to my size was a Medium, so it didn’t fully zip on the side. I think in a Large it would be perfect – I love that it has a snap closure on the bust, a tie for the waist and the fabric seems like great quality!

I love the print and fabric on this Who What Wear dress ($42.99), but the length is odd on me. It is listed as a maxi but I’m 5’11” and it’s more like a midi on me. I’m wearing a Large and I would say it is true to size.

I love this Who What Wear Dress ($37.99) and I think it would be so great for a summer event (bridal shower, wedding, etc.). It was made of a thicker material (felt like a linen to me), and the Large fit me perfectly.

This Ava & Viv plus-size dress ($27.99) is a pretty color and fabric but the fit didn’t do anything for me. I’m wearing the X and it just seemed too loose in the chest (the fabric was also thin and wrinkled).

Finally, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try on this leopard skirt ($27.99) because it looked really cute on the mannequin. The tank ($12.99) is an XL (though I think L would be better so there’s less material to tuck in); and the skirt is a Large. (Purse + Sandals are also from Target)
