What To Wear to a Holiday Party

I went to Target the other day with the intention of trying on some items that would be perfect to wear to a holiday party. However my phone died after 5 items and I was so bummed that I wasn’t able to show the plaid dress I ended up buying. Here is what I did get pictures of:

New Day V-Neck Tee (L) + New Day Fur Vest (L) + Kut from the Kloth Pants (10 – similar here) + Old Navy Booties. This vest isn’t my usual style but I loved it! Also I wore these booties for a very long 12+ hour day and they are really comfortable.

Ava & Viv Cardigan (X) – this was very soft but I wasn’t impressed by the buttons. It seemed like they could come off any minute.

New Day Sequin Sweater (L) – This was SO soft and the gems/sequins were sewn on well. It’s slightly oversized so I was able to wear L instead of XL.

I only got one pic of this Ava & Viv top before my phone died. It has really pretty velvet details!

Tonight I went to try on the plaid dress for you – and then I figured I might as well out some makeup on. And move the mirror where the light was better. Two hours later, this turned into a try-on of tons of holiday party outfits from my own closet. Some of these are more casual and could also be used for an outfit for family photos.

The lighting in my house really doesn’t do this New Day dress justice but it is SO gorgeous and also long enough that I can wear it to work (I’m 5’11”). I bought it in Large, the only place it is fitted is in the chest.

This Old Navy cable knit sweater could be worn casually with leopard flats (similar here) or dressed up with a festive heel (similar here). I paired it with a gold J. Crew Factory necklace that I’ve had for years.

This Old Navy plaid top would be great for a casual get together. I paired it with my Rothy’s and a simple Kate Spade necklace. I am wearing a Medium Tall in the top.

This plaid poncho from Royal & Reese is so comfy and can be dressed down with these Target booties or dressed up with these Old Navy booties. I am wearing a Medium – it has tons of room and you can size down for sure.

These Old Navy plaid pants look festive but are also SO comfy and basically like thick leggings. I bought them first in Large Tall but exchanged them for the regular Large as the Tall were about 4″ too long (I’m 5’11”). I wore them with my Dreamers sweater.

I am never totally sure what to wear with leather pants but I knew didn’t want to wear them with anything tight. I paired them with an oversized cable knit sweater (from Target, wearing an XXL because New Day runs smaller and I wanted this roomy) and leopard flats. These pants from Royal & Reese and I’m wearing a 13 (they have a lot of stretch and I could have done the 11).
