New Fall Arrivals at Target

I haven’t browsed clothes in person at Target since March, but I went in for groceries today and saw a couple things that caught my eye and decided I needed to snap some pics! Here are the items that I love for fall, and I’m going to come back in another post to share my at-home try on of what I ended up buying. Also, Target has now combined its Regular and Plus listings when items are available in both size groups (yay!), which is why I haven’t included separate Plus size links.

*PSA that all of the Universal Thread items are 5% off right now, make sure to add that offer to either your Cartwheel app in store, or add the offer to your cart online!

Universal Thread Puff Sleeve Dress – $29.99 – this has some gorgeous tiers on the bottom and would be great with booties.

Black & Leopard Backpacks – $32.99, Universal Thread (it will come as a surprise to no one that I am obsessed with the leopard print!)

Universal Thread Floral Top – $24.99 – I love lightweight blouses like these for fall, because it stays hot here in NC through September and October. This also comes in other colors and patterns.

Universal Thread Leopard Print Ruffle Sleeve Top – $27.99 – I keep seeing other people post about this in the Target Fam Facebook group, and I have to admit that it is really cute in person! It is almost more of a sweatshirt material as opposed to a dressy blouse. If you’d prefer a blouse in the same pattern, Target has that too (click here).

Universal Thread Puff Sleeve Sweatshirt – $25 – this come in solid colors and tie-dye and would look great paired with shorts (or sweatpants, let’s be honest).

A New Day Colorblock Cardigan – $27.99 – This cardigan is the whole reason I looked at fall clothes at all today. The colors stopped me in my tracks! There are several solid and striped color ways available.

A New Day Slouchy Crewneck Sweater – $24.99 – I love the color block version of this, but I was even more in love with the maroon. Online, they paired it with leopard pants, which would be an amazing look for fall! (It comes in 8 different colors online)

New Day Crewneck Pullover – $20 – I am dead over this hot pink, and also this insane price. This looked to me like it is meant to be a shorter sweater, though not quite cropped. It is available in 13 colors/patterns online.

New Day Woven T-Shirt – $20 – I love this plaid for fall, and to me this felt more like a blouse than a T-shirt. I also love how it was paired with these paper-bag pants ($29.99).

New Day Short Sleeve Eyelet Top – $20 – I love that this spans both summer and fall – I’ve seen a lot of short sleeve eyelet tops, but never in these gorgeous fall colors!

New Day Plaid Blazer – $34.99 – I have really loved the New Day blazers I’ve purchased in the past, they are always surprisingly great quality considering the price. And this plaid is so beautiful!

First, here is a quick run-down of The Classics – the staples that are part of the sale year after year and have tons of positive reviews:

[Steve Madden Calf Hair Loafer – $39, Regularly $91]

[Blondo Waterproof Booties – $69; Normally $149. So many people are obsessed with their Blondo booties, and now is the time to get them for more than 50% off].

[Hunter Tour Packable Rain Boots – $99; Regularly $150. I have been considering a pair of Hunters for years, maybe I will finally go for it!]

[Moonlight Pajamas ($39; regularly $65) – I own these and they are so comfortable! Size down if in between. They also have a shorts version, and there are tons of color options]

[Natori Rose Dream Custom Coverage Bra ($42, Regularly $79) – this is the only bra I will wear with underwire, it is very comfortable and supportive and I highly recommend it].

[Zella Live-In Leggings – $38; Regularly $59. These are my #1 favorite leggings, very soft and can be worn to workout or to lounge/work from home. Available in gray, black and pink]

[Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan – $68; Regularly $116 – I don’t own this one but have heard nothing but glowing reviews! It’s a great one to buy and save for a holiday gift as well. Available in plus-size here].

[Wit & Wisdom Absolution Ankle Skinny Jeans ($49, Regularly $78) – I may need to buy these this year, I know so many people who say these are their favorite jeans].

[Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – $64, Regularly $98]

[Patagonia Water-Repellant Jacket – $111; Regularly $159]

Second, here are some items I want to highlight from this year’s sale:

Daydreamer Flying Varsity Crewneck Sweatshirt – $49; Normally $87. Tie-dye continues to be very popular, and I think the tie-dye pieces from the sale will sell quick.

Quay Australia Cat Eye Sunglasses – $35, Regularly $55. I love Quay sunglasses and this is an excellent deal!

Daydreamer Rainbow Tie Dye Long Sleeve T-Shirt – $44; Regularly $69.

1.State Floral Smocked Mock Neck Blouse – $49, Regularly $89. I love a high-neck blouse, and this would be great for the office (whenever we go back there!)

[Free People Teddy Coat – $99, Regularly $168 – I don’t own a teddy coat, and I love this caramel brown color!]

Glen Plaid Double Breasted Blazer ($49, Regularly $100)

Julia Jordan Tile Print Mock Neck Midi Dress ($76, Regularly $129) – I think this is my favorite piece in the sale, because it is something unique and new that I don’t already own.

Caslon Open Front Cardigan ($39, Regularly $69) – these stripe cardigans always sell out, and I am sure this year will be no exception! It is also available in plus-size here.

Kut from the Kloth Faux Suede Jacket ($76, Regularly $118) – I love the fall color options for this, including Burgundy!

Gibson Cozy Twist Pullover ($28, normally $49) – I am not skilled at all the fancy knots and tucks people do with their tees, so I love when someone does it for me! This comes in solids and prints and the price is great. Available in plus-size here.

Gibson Notch Collar Cotton Blend Blazer ($49, Regularly $98) – this comes in a ton of colors, I personally love the hot pink!

Caslon Draped Front Faux Leather Jacket ($69; Regularly $129) – this would be such a good staple piece for fall that you can wear over a casual white tee and jeans, or over a floral dress.

B.P. Print Long Sleeve Leopard Dress ($31, regularly $55) – considering leopard is always in for fall, and the low price point – this one is likely to sell out! It is also available in plus-size here.

Barefoot Dreams Leopard Cardigan – the Barefoot Dreams cardigans are always a popular item at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and now there is a leopard option! ($79, Regularly $134)

Home Decor: Our Homework Room

I saw a post from @younghouselove a few months ago with a “homework room makeover” and knew I had to do something similar once we got into our new house. It’s so nice to have a place for all of their books and craft supplies, and to do their homework in as they get older.

Desks: I was originally going to get the same desks from Ikea from the original YHL post, but that just didn’t make sense in the age of COVID. I got these Target desks instead and they were so easy to put together (less than 10 mins, it’s just attaching legs) and look really nice and sturdy for the price.

Bookshelves: I used this Sauder Pogo Boom/Toy Organizer that I have had for years and would highly recommend (I can’t believe it has lasted through two moves considering the price), and an Ikea piece that used to be our pantry.

Cube Organizer: I am using this Ikea cube organizer and wicker baskets (that I already owned) to keep all the art supplies organized. You can also get a similar organizer from Target and similar baskets from Wayfair.

Rug: I got this rug at Home Goods for only $60 and I’m obsessed. For a similar 5×7 rug under $100, check out these options: nuLoom at Home Depot, Mark & Day, and Wayfair.

The Look for Less: Serena & Lily Riviera Chairs

You’ve probably seen these gorgeous Serena & Lily Riviera Chairs all over your Facebook and Instagram targeted ads, and in the homes of a lot of influencers. They are gorgeous but definitely an investment piece at over $200 each for dining chairs and over $300 each for barstools. (ETA: Just my personal two cents that I thought Serena & Lily’s response to the BLM movement was trash, so I wouldn’t buy their products).

If you want this same look for less, below are a number of options for both dining chairs and barstools:

French Cafe Wicker Patio Chair – $54, Threshold

Safavieh French Bistro Barstool – $151 each, Target

Wicker Arm Patio Chairs – $100 – 130 each (available in several colors), Target

French Bistro Side Chair – $160 each (available in several colors), Target

Hooper Stackable Dining Chair – $130 each, Home Depot

Woven Rattan Dining Chairs – $140 each, World Market

Where Can I Find: A Tie-Dye Lounge Set

Hoodie and Joggers – $28 each, Union Bay (check the top bar of their site for current discount codes!)

Colsie Lounge Sweater and Pants – $20 each, Target (pants appear to be sold out in this pattern online)

Cloud Tie Dye Set – $24, Macy’s

Tie Dye Pajama Set – $20, Walmart

Tie Dye Sweatsuit – $68, Shoptiques

If you want to get the same set as Nina Dobrev, check out this Z Supply Top and Shorts! ($118 for the set)

This PJ Salvage set is on the more expensive side, but is very cute and available in either a short or pants combo! (Top; Pants; Shorts)

The Look for Less: Rothy’s Dupes!

Love the breathability/comfort of Rothy’s but don’t want to pay $150+ for flats? Here are some companies making similar knit shoes for a lot less:
For the record, I love my Rothy’s, but I also know it’s a huge investment and always like to provide you all with affordable options. I own the Steve Madden Rosy flats in camo and love them, they do run small just like Rothy’s.
1. Kelly & Katie Fonzie Flats – $39.99, Sizes 6-11, come in several colors/patterns. I bought the camo ones when they were on super sale for $14.99 and they are great! They are true to size (they are not as pointed/narrow at the tip as Rothy’s are) and have a nice memory foam type cushion on the bottom.

2. Steve Madden Rosy Flats – $89 (I’ve also seen them at Nordstrom Rack for way less, as low as $39) – Sizes 5-11, available in 3 colors/patterns. I bought a pair of these in camo and they are really cute but do run small like Rothy’s points, the Size 11 was just too small for me unfortunately. If they had a Size 12 I would have bought those!

3. Naturalizer Alexis Loafer – $49.99, Sizes 5-11, available in Nude and Black
4. Alfani Step and Flex Pointed Toe Flats – $69.50 – Sizes 5-11, available in 3 colors

4. Sketchers Cleo Flats – $35.00 – $49.99, Sizes 5-11, available in a ton of styles (flats and loafers) and colors at Zappos.

5. Kerri Slip-On Shoes – $49.99, Buckle – available in black and leopard

Target Try-On: Business Casual Tops

I’m always looking for nice tops to throw on for work with black pants and flats, because let’s be honest – I have about 5 minutes to get dressed in the morning so this is my go-to business casual “uniform.” I really love the Prologue line at Target for good quality work wear, and am particularly obsessed with the high-low wrap top I found.

(FYI, I am wearing these pants, my Rothy’s and my favorite necklace with my kids initials – which is under $50!)

THIS TOP, ladies. It is SO good (and only $24.99). It is a wrap top that actually fits over my large chest (it has a hook-and-eye closure at the top to keep it in place, it is a high-low fit which means it sits at the perfect place in front without needing to tuck it in, but is lower in the back to make sure you won’t be showing anything you don’t want to show lol. I am wearing the Large and I’d say to size down if you want it more fitted. The pictures online show a much looser/boxier cut and I don’t love the way it looks in those photos. Oh, and it’s available in 3 colors and in Plus Sizes.

This Knox Rose sweater ($29.99) was very comfortable and soft, and great for spring weather because it isn’t too thick. I am wearing the XL.

I really love this Who What Wear black sleeveless top ($24.99), as it could be worn to work or for a more casual look, and has some great detail to it (I’m wearing a Large for reference). The necklace is also from Target ($14) and could go with a lot of outfits. The top is also available in Plus size.

I was so excited to try on this New Day mint blazer ($34.99, also available in Plus Size) because I have the exact same one from last year in a light blue and I LOVE it (seriously, run out and buy this!) – I get compliments on it all the time and it looks and feels very high quality.  This is a 14 (I own a 12 in the blue version, I think either would work for me). I also think I’d likely wear it with a v-neck top instead of this high-neck top.

I don’t really own a white button-up blouse, as it’s so hard to find one that actually fits over my chest but isn’t then too boxy or loose on the bottom.  This one is really gorgeous, and very soft. I am wearing the XL and it fits me comfortably on top. I am wearing it here tucked-in, but you can tuck it in as well.

Target Clearance Try-On

A lot of winter dresses and sweaters are on clearance at Target right now for 50% off! I stopped by to try on a few things and share them with you all.

(My flats and pants are also from Target)

I actually already own this dress in a Black Size Large and love it. This is the burgundy X-Large and was $13 at my store.

This leopard sweater is actually maternity but I think it fits great and I loved it! In my store it was $13. I’m wearing the XXL.

This New Day sweater is very cute but the sleeves were a bit long. I’m wearing the Large. In my store it was $14.

This New Day sweater (Size Large) is so soft and reminds me of a fair isle sweater from J. Crew. In my store it was only $14.

This Ava & Viv mockneck is very stretchy and soft and only $9! I’m wearing the X.
